AHC in your DNA – Part 1.

For the last 2 seasons former member Bill Moffett has provided long distance support to junior members of our club. Bill now lives overseas but got in contact with the club with the offer to support a junior player. On a recent trip home to Australia, Bill caught up with Fred Roadley having not seen him for almost 40 years. Fred provided great support to Bill when he was a kid playing at Altona often driving him to Sunday morning State Trials. Bill now stays in contact with the club via the newsletter and website.

Thanks for keeping in touch, Bill. This year Anikin Samuels was selected as the recipient of your support.

At our recent venture to Ballarat to play Premier League games an official Legend of the club dropped in for a visit. Norm Hunter was a huge part of the club during the ’50s and ’60s who now lives in Daylesford. He read in the local paper that Altona was playing in Ballarat and decided to drop in for a look. He was quickly spotted by Paddy Shields who never forgets the face of an AHC Legend.

Thanks for dropping in Norm. The eggs you gave Paddy and young Cooper were magnificent.

Another Legend, Colin White, made a surprise visit to the club one recent Sunday arvo. Colin (“CW” to all at AHC) was an enormous contributor to the club during the ’70s and ’80s. He now lives in Camperdown but recently found a stack of historical old AHC photos and wanted to hand them over to the club.

Great to see you again CW and we’ll work out a way for the whole club to enjoy the photos you dropped off to us.

70's Legends

As you can see, once you have AHC DNA flowing through your veins it stays with you for life.
