The following information is for all players with ambitions to play in our top two teams (Women’s Premier League and Premier League reserves) in 2013, from coach Marc Richardson;

Please click here for the 2013 Training Plan.

1.       The week 12 countdown to training begins now – I have provided some sample running sessions that will give you the build up to a strong fitness base for January

2.       Please continue your running groups – much easier to run together with the attached program, particularly from Week 9 onwards

3.       You must complete the running program twice per week, with an extra activity – eg summer hockey, bike ride, swim, basketball etc to keep the legs going

4.       The first official session is January 7 at AHC – your aim is to be as fit on January 7 as you finished the 2012 season

5.       There are alternate days of hockey club versus running sessions in January.  This is to ensure people who work specific shifts do not miss out regularly

6.       There will be an enhanced focus on basic skills through pre season – bring your hockey and running gear to AHC sessions

7.       Try and run on gravel or aths track or even grass rather than concrete or road surfaces to prevent injury

8.       Please add a stretching session to your twice weekly routine – easily done in front of the TV

9.       Please print both the training plan tab, and the individual running tab and put them on your fridge or desk – somewhere visible

10.   If you find any of the program difficult to follow, let me know and I will give you a guide – 30 minutes should be 5km minimum in November and 6km in December

There will be some individual notes coming out shortly about focus for next season.  We will have a goal session in January to plan for the season.  Hopefully I haven’t forgotten anything, but please ask.

Finally, myself, Aido, Lisa and Tracey have committed for 2013, and we have already started.  Your time starts now.  See you in January fit and ready to go
