Do you have any programs for young beginners?

Absolutely. Hookin2Hockey is Hockey Australia’s Junior Entry Program, aimed at beginners to learn the ropes of hockey in a fun and safe environment.

AHC runs Hookin2Hockey programs in small blocks throughout the year. Head to our Hookin2Hockey page for the latest information.

I’m interested in playing but I’m not 100% sure – what do I do?

Potential new players are more than welcome to come down to a training session to meet the coaches, chat to other players, and check if the fit is right. If you’d like to talk to the relevant coach first, please submit a New Player Form and let us know.

I’d like to play but I can’t commit to a whole season.

Both Altona Hockey Club and Hockey Victoria offer a reduced-fee 5-game membership option. If you’d like to continue playing beyond this, you can upgrade your membership to allow for more games.

Do you also play Indoor Hockey?

Yes, Altona has a strong history in indoor hockey and fields teams across many age groups and grades. If you’re a current AHC member, expressions of interest will be circulated near the end of the outdoor season. If you are not a current AHC member, please fill in our New Player Form and we will be in touch.
