Thank-you to all who joined us on ANZAC Day last week at the Snakepit. While it was always going to be a sombre mood for the day, it was great to see a big crowd for our Service and both Premier League games.

Unfortunately we couldn’t get the results on the pitch with both Premier League games ending with MCC 2-1 victors. Our men were up at 2pm and took the early lead through Tyson Priddle following a great run from Pat Phillips. MCC answered shortly after and then took the lead before half-time through Josh and Jonno Bretherton. The second half was spent entirely in MCC’s half as they defended grimly, but held out the A’s despite multiple chances.

The Women’s Premier League game was an even affair with MCC able to make the most of their chances with two short corner conversions. The A girls continued to attack throughout the game and had a host of chances in the second half before Danielle Schubach brought the score back to 2-1 with five minutes to play. Despite pressing hard and winning short corners in the final moments the score remained 2-1.
