Altona Premier League gun player, Andrew Scanlon, has been named in Australia’s U/21 Mens squad, the Burras, for a tournament in Malaysia next month.
The tournament is an opportunity for the squad to gain international experience, and will be viewed by selectors as a rehearsal for the 2016 Junior World Cup.
Australia will face Great Britain, India, Malaysia, NZ and Pakistan in the round-robin tournament in Johur Bahru, Malaysia between 12th– 19th October.
Scanlon, a Werribee resident, has been part of the Hockey Australia Futures program during this season, and starred for Altona during their first Premier League finals appearance since 2003.
