With one win to its name this season, the Women’s Premier League side were hoping to take the three points on the weekend against an up-and-down Footscray.

Footscray won their first three games of the season before falling to their next three opponents.

Altona did not put a foot out of place for 70 minutes with all players contributing to the win.

Former Hockeyroo and A’s captain Daniel Schubach had an absolute field day slotting her first hat-trick of the season.

A penalty stroke awarded to Footscray let them scrape one goal in before veteran striker Steph Young took control setting up Missy Johnson and Phoebe Rothfield to bring the final score to 5-1.

An overall great game of hockey for the A girls with the defenders and goalkeeper really solidifying their spots down back and not letting a determined Footscray outfit get a good scoring opportunity.
