Each of these people is responsible for key areas of hockey operations both on and off the field. Most give many hours a week of their time during the season and also throughout the year.
Please support the board members in their efforts. Any contribution you can make will be welcome. If you have skills in any areas that may be of use at sub-committee level or if you are able to help with repairs and maintenance- please contact a board member or email your details to enquiries@altonahc.org.au.

My son transferred from Brunswick U15s mid 2006. Although I was still a playing member at Brunswick and past committee member and vice president I became an active committee person at Altona in 2007. I saw the light this year and am now playing Vets with Altona. Both my children play hockey and my daughter is an accredited umpire and umpire coach.

I still consider myself a newbie at AHC (well at least compared to the likes of Jock, Merryn and Bones!). I joined the WSL2 team in 2002 and the Board in 2005. Like a true 'Altonian', I'm proud to play hockey alongside most of my friends and family. Having the opportunity to participate in the top league of the competition is an added bonus - something I hope we can maintain for the many talented juniors coming through our great club.

I started playing hockey in Under 10's. My parents and sister also played hockey and were involved in club administration and coaching throughout my Junior years. Hockey was a family affair. I have been fortunate to play at top club level since the age of 15 and was privileged to play in both the Altona State League 1 Men's Premiership teams of 94 & 96 as well as being a state rep.
I am passionate about the club and have worn many hats over the years as a coach, manager, club administrator and board member.

I have been involved in hockey at Altona for approx 28 years. Firstly as a player where I was lucky enough to play in the top grade and then as a coach, working with both juniors and seniors. I now have two children playing at the club and find it a great place for them to spend time.

I joined Altona Hockey Club in 1989, as a young under 9, playing half field on grass. I began because my father played when he was a boy, so when I joined up, he played a couple of years of veterans hockey at Altona at the same time. My family has been involved with coaching, junior committee, playing, umpiring and volunteering since I started, and I have played, coached and umpired also. I thought it was time to help out officially on the board, and I hope to encourage growth within the club, on and off field, and show others in the Victorian hockey community what a successful family club we are.

I joined Altona Hockey Club when I was in my early 20's and have enjoyed playing at all levels of competition since. I now play in the Women's veteran's team and have two sons playing in juniors. I have recently joined the board in my capacity as the Junior co-ordinator. Hockey is a sport reliant on experienced parents and players to give back their time and skill for coaching, administration and umpiring. I am more than happy to do that.

My kids started playing hockey 15 years ago. Both my husband and I dabbled with veteran's hockey having never played before. I think I decided then I was more useful helping out around the club rather than playing. It has been a great club to be involved with. I enjoy the friendships that my family have made over the years. I enjoy watching hockey being played at any age. It is an inclusive game, entertaining and incredibly athletic and competitive at higher levels.

I began by watching my brother play one season and liked it so much I followed him into the sport. I have been playing for 10 years from U15 and after a coaching apprenticeship under "The Legend" I stepped up to coaching U11's 4years ago. I coached my first senior team this year and that was so much fun seeing the girls develop from just junior players to holding their own against experienced players. I've had a lot of fun at the club and I wanted to get more involved so nominated for the board this year.

I became involved with The Altona Hockey club about 4 years ago when we were on the look out for a new sport for my three children. From the begining the club were very welcoming and encouraging even though being older kids they were total beginners to the sport. They have now progressed quite significantly and have also taken on umpiring and some coaching within the local primary school Hockey.
During that time I have taken on a few minor roles within the club but felt it was time to put a little more into helping with the overall planning and development, hence my recent interest in becoming a member of the Board. I am looking forward to the future at a very forward thinking and exciting club.
